I only ever really shoot colour when I’m on holiday, so these are my holiday snaps, personal memories that I’m happy to share. I know a lot of people, especially anyone in Japan, will think, ‘That’s just a photo of a car park?’ or ‘That’s a vending machine…what’s so special about it?’, I get that, but Japan is so much more than cherry blossom and Shibuya Crossing.
Yes, totally agree. I think the trick, well it is for me, is to start photographing the second you get to a new place because the brain familiarises location and situation very quickly.

When I’m on vacation I like to buy the post cards with the pretty pictures and shoot scenes like these myself. It’s more personal.
